Paradise of Picturesque Hills and Valleys Itinerary
Day 01: Guwahati- Bhalukpong (250 kms; 3-4 hrs drive)
On arrival at Guwahati, drive to Bhalukpong. Bhalukpong is a small town located along the southern reaches of the Himalayas in West Kameng District of Arunachal Pradesh. There after leisure time to explore this beautiful place. Night halt at Bhalukpong or Nameri.
Day: 02 Nameri National Park
Early morning proceed to Nameri National Park. Halt at the park.
Day 03: Bhalukpong – Dirang (185 kms; 7 hrs drive)
After breakfast, proceed to Dirang, the land of the Monpa tribes of Arunachal Pradesh. Enroute visit Tippi Orchid Centre and Sessa Orchid Sanctuary. Other places of interests are the Hot Spring, the War Memorial, the Lower Monastery. Night Halt at Dirang.
Day 04: Dirang – Tawang (155kms; 6 to 7 hrs drive)
After breakfast drive to Tawang. On the way enjoy the beautiful Sella Lake and the Sella Pass(13746 ft.) as well as Jaswantgarh. Jaswantgarh located 16kms from the Sella Pass is a memorial to the brave soldiers who single handedly tried to stop the advancing Chinese aggression of 1962. In the evening, explore the town of Tawang. Overnight stay at Tawang.
Day 05: Tawang Tour
After Breakfast ,do local sight seeing of Tawang where we cover the Madhuri Lake, the Unni Gompa ( women monastery), the Tawang Monastery and then drive to Pangkang Teng Tso.(P. T. Tso Lake) close to the Chinese border. Return in the evening and rest at the Hotel.
Day: 06 Tawang- Bomdila (181kms; 7hrs drive)
After breakfast drive to Bomdila, located at an altitude of 8500ft. It is from here that one can see the brilliant landscape and snow clad mountains of the Himalayan Range. Enroute visit and enjoy the beautiful Jang Falls as well as the Upper and the Lower Monastery. Eveningis at leisure and overnight at Bomdila.
Day 07: Bomdila – Tezpur (about 80kms)
After breakfast visit Craft Centre which opens at 9:00 AM where one finds colourful exquisite dragon designs carpets, Buddhists Tangkas (wall hangings) and masks. Then proceed to Tezpur and halt.
Day 08 – Proceed for onward journey to Lilabari Airport, Tezpur. Tour ends.
