Check here the Frequently Asked Questions about Motorised Paragliding or Paramotoring in Goa.
1. How safe is my joyride?
- It may surprise you that your joyride is actually safer than flying small planes or even riding a motorcycle but a little less safe than driving a car!
- Powered Paragliding (PPG) or Paramotoring, as we call it, is an extremely safe sport.
- Probably the safest form of private aviation ever devised. Nonetheless, cultivating a habit of caution makes us go a long way.
- The primary reasons for PPG’s excellent safety record, is their low speed and inherent stability during launch, approach and landing. (The pilot runs into the air at about 10-15 kmph and lands at the same speed).
- Besides the helmets and safety buckles that we provide, Your biggest safety gears are between your ears!
- It’s always crucial and wise to receive a fair bit of instruction and never hesitate to ask any questions to your professionals around you who will be happy to guide you.
2. What if the motor quits?
- It is a glider, and glide its will!
- All gliders come with a manufacture default glide ratio (Eg. for every 500 feet you can glide well over 1km).
- Our pilots coherently stay well over landable terrain at all times which is real easy with these machines.
- As a matter of fact when a pilot wants to land, the engine is practically not in use. It is on idle.Hence, it is not as much of a matter of engine power or throttle as it is of pure gliding and following general landing protocol.
3. Will I get scared as I am afraid of heights?
- Ask just about any pilot if he or she has ever gone through this feeling and the answer will be yes.
- Human nature is to be afraid of heights. Everybody starts with that fear, and after a few flights, it is essentially gone.
- Once you realize how secure the harness and the wing is, there is nothing to fear.
4. How high will we be flying?
- We will fly anywhere between 500 to 1000 feet depending on the wind and weather condition.
- And importantly, it also depends on your willingness.
5. What will be the duration of my joyride?
- Each joyride lasts for about 5 to 6 minutes starting from take-off to landing.
- We also have options for 10 minutes joyrides.
6. We are two of us…can we go together?
- Even though we would love for us to be able to do that someday, we are helpless and out on limb for this, as the machines that you see are only designed for flight for two in total… one pilot, one passenger
7. Is there a possibility of water landing?
- All gliders come with a manufacture default glide ratio (Eg. for every 500 feet you can glide well over 1km).
- And to further back this up, our pilots are highly trained professionals.
- We respect good airmanship and hence strictly adhere to instructed protocols and stay well over landable terrain at all times which is real easy with these machines.
8. Can I take my child along for a joyride?
- At the end of the day, the goals are simple:
- Safety and Security! Keeping matters of safety in mind we strictly do not allow passengers to take a child along with them on flight.
- However, a child is a child and if you encourage him enough he will gladly go for a flight on his own just like most children… they love it!
