Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan headquarters is gearing up to launch an online admission process for Class 1 in more than 1200 KV Schools in India. Age is a primary requirement for admission into Class 1. Applicants must be 6 years old or older as of April 1, 2023. A simple online tool has been created to determine the eligibility of applicants for the 2023-24 academic year. To access the tool, the child’s date of birth should be entered. Parents and guardians should be aware of the age rules before applying online in the KVS admission portal. Applicants can apply for two academic years consecutively. Age limits allow children who have completed 8 years of age to apply. Therefore, each student can apply twice for class 1 admission in a KV school.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission Age Table 2023-24

The age limits for admission to KVS are outlined below, with all ages being measured as of March 31st:

• Class 1: Minimum age of 6 years and maximum age of 8 years
• Class 2: Minimum age of 7 years and maximum age of 9 years
• Class 3: Minimum age of 7 years and maximum age of 9 years
• Class 4: Minimum age of 8 years and maximum age of 10 years
• Class 5: Minimum age of 9 years and maximum age of 11 years
• Class 6: Minimum age of 10 years and maximum age of 12 years
• Class 7: Minimum age of 11 years and maximum age of 13 years
• Class 8: Minimum age of 12 years and maximum age of 14 years
• Class 9: Minimum age of 13 years and maximum age of 145 years
• Class 10: Minimum age of 14 years and maximum age of 16 years

Admission to Class XI and XII in KVS does not have an age limit, provided the student is seeking admission in the year of passing Class X examination for Class XI and there has been no break in continuous study after passing Class XI for Class XII. Furthermore, The Principal may relax the maximum age limit by two years for differently abled children.
